Anita Sarkeesian is a Canadian-American feminist media critic and public speaking. Feminist Frequency was established by Sarkeesian. Feminist Frequency was launched in 2009 by Sarkeesian, an undergraduate student at York University who had been interested in issues that concern gender and feminism for a lengthy time. She was a young woman with a dream to develop an online series to examine the gender roles in games. However, she became victimized by online harassment. The attack did not deter her instead it was a boost to her determination as a feminist critic of media.
